Quality on a Budget
Clients in the voluntary sector often need to produce a high-quality publication with a very low price tag, leaving little or no budget for new photography, illustration, distinctive print techniques or formats. We know this, and make sure that the design – or the client’s public image – does not suffer.

The Suffolk Family Carers’ Impact Report, designed by Barry Lowenhoff, is such a project. It had a very low print run and there were no funds available for new imagery. However, the final report relies upon a clean, two-colour approach with clear and often stimulating type design. As a result, it has attracted much praise from partner organisations and other SFC key audiences.

There's an inconvenient truth about the marriage of good writing and design: it's so harmonious that it's easy to assume it must be a doddle. It isn't. The magic is in making people think it is.
